Mark Abramowsky is a self taught artist originally hailing from Cleveland, Ohio. During his lifetime, he lived in various cities: Chicago, Panama City and the San Francisco Bay area. Currently he resides in Austin, Texas where the barbecue is notably better.
The first steps start off with rough sketches in sketchbooks, scraps of loose paper and/or napkins from a local dining establishment. Once an idea is generated, the research phase commences; This requires trips to the library or viewing images on the internet.
A series of revised drawings are created to hammer out composition problems and other issues. The final drawing is usually completed on a large bristol board sheet - usually 19 X 24 or larger.
The final pencil drawing is scanned in parts and composited together using a stitching function in an image editor. The file is transfered to a painting software program - one that can emmulate real world media. The entire painting process can take a minimun of 3 months - depending on how much free time I have.
Some of the software I use: Corel Painter, Affinity Photo and Designer, Blender, Plasticity, Hexels.
